About American Board of Thermology

The American Academy of Thermology (AAT) was founded in 1971. The AAT is a non-proprietary and multi-disciplinary organization that promotes education, research and the clinical application of medical infrared imaging.  The AAT is unique in North America as a forum for practitioners and investigators interested in effects of neurologic, vascular, oncologic and metabolic influences on skin temperature.  Relevant articles for publication may be submitted to the AAT for publication in its peer-reviewed journal, Thermology International.  Relevant continuing medical education credits are offered by the Academy.

The AAT holds annual conferences for the presentation of scientific and professional papers.  In cooperation with the international thermology community the AAT prepares and publishes peer-reviewed guidelines for the use of medical infrared imaging.  The American Academy of Thermology serves as the voice of its members in medical practice, health care finance, legislative and regulatory related matters.

The AAT offers different categories of membership. Interested individuals should either be licensed physicians, accomplished medical scientists with demonstrated interest in medical infrared imaging or technologists who desire training and education in Thermology.  Members who meet the necessary prerequisites may obtain competency certification by successfully passing Board examinations offered through the American Board of Thermology.
